KS1 SATs Results 2016

The new, more rigourous tests were taken this year by the Year 2 pupils. The test results are used in conjunction with teacher assessment judgements throughout the year to determin whether each child has met the required standard in KS1.

Test Results:

This year for the first time a scaled score was determined for each test undertaken. The range of scaled scores available for each test is the same and will stay the same in future years. 85 is the lowest scaled score that can be awarded on a KS1 test. The highest scaled score is 115. A scaled score of 100 or more represents the expected standard in each test. A pupil awarded a score of 99 or less has not met the expected standard in the test.

The Average scaled score per pupil in Reading was 106, and in Maths the average scaled score was 103.

80% meet the standard of the test in Reading and 70% meet the required standard of the test in Maths.

Overall Teacher Assessment figures were as follows:

  Reading Writing Maths
Working at Greater Depth than Standard 26% 16% 29%
Working at Expected Standard + 81% 71% 77%
Working Towards Expected Standard 16% 26% 19%

KS2 SATs Results 2016

We are very proud of our Year 6 pupils’ SATs results. They performed very well and gained good results.

The SATs test are now given a scaled score where 100 is classed as the expected standard. Anything above 100 is working above the required standard. Anything below 100 is working towards the standard. The minimum scaled score is 80 and the maximum is 120.

The Average scaled score per pupil in Reading was 103, Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling was 104 and in Maths the average scaled score was 104 - this is in line with national figures.

How did we do compared with schools nationally?

At SAVS: 64% of pupils reached the new expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics with 8% of pupils achieving a high score

Nationally: 53% of pupils reached the new expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.
