The Governing Body supports the school's ethos of having an inclusive community and makes strategic decisions which will help prepare all pupils to meet challenge in their own lives by providing a caring, safe and stimulating learning environment.
The three core functions of the Governing Body are:
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
Holding the school leadership to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure that its money is well spent.
The day to day running of the school is left to the highly capable and qualified staff.
Our decisions will always be made in the best interests of the school and we will always be prepared to explain those decisions openly and honestly to the wider community.
To contact the Governing Body please email the clerk to the governors r.jackson@southascotvillageschool.org.uk
The South Ascot Village School Governing Body operates a 'circle' model of governance, where the majority of decisions are made at Full Governing Body meetings. Full Governing Body (FGB) meetings are held at regular intervals during term time. There is a Finance Committee which reports to the Full Governing Body.
The governors take on designated roles (eg Safeguarding governor) and have link areas of focus for their governor visits to school.
For more information on the governors and their link areas and roles, please see the table below.
