South Ascot Village School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We recognise that all adults, including temporary staff, volunteers and governors, have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm, and that the children's welfare is our paramount concern.
We believe that SAVS provides a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical and moral development of all our children.
Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy details the procedures in place to actively safeguard our pupils. The policy is available on the Key Documents page of our school website. All our staff (including governors) are trained in safeguarding procedures, and we provide information (see leaflets below) for volunteers and visitors.
All staff, volunteers and governors ensure that they are aware of these procedures.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies where there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns are shared with the child's parents or carers in the first instance unless we have reason to believe that this would be contrary to the child's welfare.
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Mr Corbitt
Deputy DSLs (DDSL): Mrs C Kelly & Mr Forrest
Safeguarding Governor: Mr J Snell
Members of our safeguarding team are visible around school and are available to discuss any concerns. Information leaflets are available in the school front office reception area, and posters are displayed around the school site. The Safeguarding Governor iprovides governance oversight of our safeguarding arrangements.
If you are concerned about a child's welfare, please:
If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff then you should report this directly to the Headteacher (or Chair of Governors if the concern relates to the Headteacher) who will consider what action to take.
