South Ascot Village School

Wellbeing

At South Ascot Village Primary School, the wellbeing of every member of our school community is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a nurturing, safe and supportive environment where both our pupils and staff can thrive.

We recognise that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility, and we ensure that all children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care, taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes. We embed our school's vision and values across all aspects of school life, creating structure and consistency for pupils, which helps to boost their wellbeing.

For our pupils, we focus on developing their emotional resilience, supporting their mental health and ensuring they feel valued, heard and respected. We normalise talking about mental health through assemblies, PSHE and RSE, encouraging pupils to share their concerns in a safe and supportive atmosphere. We provide a broad range of enrichment opportunities and pastoral support to help every child develop confidence and a love of learning.

For our staff, we understand that their wellbeing is essential to creating a positive learning environment. We are committed to supporting our team through manageable workloads, professional development opportunities and a culture where everyone feels valued and supported. We take account of staff wellbeing, make sure workload is manageable and have effective systems in place to protect staff from bullying, unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation.

Together, we work as a community to ensure that South Ascot Village Primary School is a place where everyone can flourish.
