Collective worship is a daily requirement for all maintained schools and academies.
At SAVS, collective worship takes place through a programme of whole school, key stage and individual class or year group activities depending on the occasion. These are mainly Christian in character, whilst respecting the diverse backgrounds of our school community.
Throughout the school terms and academic year, we embrace our collective worship programme as an opportunity to showcase the work, outcomes and successes of our pupils, and share special occasions with our parent and carer community.
| Day | Theme |
|---|---|
| Mondays | Whole School Assembly |
| Tuesdays | Key Stage Assemblies |
| Wednesdays | Singing Assembly |
| Thursdays | Class Assemblies |
| Fridays | Celebration Assembly |
Our assembly programme provides opportunities to invite parents and carers into the school. Each class leads a Class Assembly for the whole school, and their parents and carers, every term. Every week, parents and carers of our 'Stars of the Week' are invited to celebrate with the school on a Friday.
In addition to our assembly programme, we have strong connections to our neighbouring All Soul’s Church, where we regularly visit to attend liturgical events and activities throughout the year including Harvest Festival, Christmas and Easter.
