    Homework Tasks (10/07/26)

    Wow! Another week down! Year 4, you've shown such amazing determination, powering through, despite the heat! You've been incredibly resilient, supported one another and pulled together as a team.  Well done!

     

    Talk Homework: 

    This week, we have been discussing the signs to look out for when someone is having an asthma attack.  With someone at home, discuss the following:-

    + Imagine a friend says they are having trouble breathing because of asthma. Tell someone at home what you would do, based on what you can remember from this week's learning.

    + What kind of things could make asthma worse for an asthma sufferer? (think about the triggers we mentioned in class).

    + ''People with asthma cannot play sport.''  Is this statement true or not?  Explain your reasons for your response.

     

     

    Reading Homework

    All reading should now be logged on PageTicker.  Please continue to read daily across a range of genres (science-fiction, poetry, biographies etc) throughout the rest of this half-term.

     

    Spelling Homework

    Your next (and final!) spelling list has been stuck in your blue spelling book.  If you forget your blue spelling book on Friday, you will need to get a spare copy of your spelling list from the tray in the classroom.

     

    Maths Homework

    Please continue to practise your times tables regularly, as they will be essential throughout the rest of this half-term and as you move into Year 5 in September. Try using Garage Mode on Times Table Rock Stars and see if you can turn your heatmap green!

    If you already have a green heatmap and would like some additional Maths challenges, here are some questions which link to our learning this week:-

    + A point is translated 3 squares right and 2 squares up. It ends at (7, 6). What were its original coordinates? Explain how you know.

    + Always, sometimes or never true? “When a shape is translated, its x-coordinate and y-coordinate both change.” Justify your answer.

    + A shape moves 3 squares left and 2 squares up. Ben says, “Every point on the shape must move in the same way.” Is Ben correct? Explain your answer.

    + A point starts at (6, 2) and finishes at (6, 7). How has the point moved? What stayed the same?
