Friday 10th July 2026 - Friday 17th July 2026:
What a fantastic week it has been, Year 3! Even with the hot weather, you have kept smiling, stayed focused and given your learning your very best effort. Well done!
Talk homework
This week in English, we have been exploring a new text called, 'The Zebra's Great Escape,' by Katherine Rundell. Discuss the following questions with someone at home:-
+ If you wanted to befriend a wild animal, how would you do it? What would you need to be careful about?
+ Where would you hide a zebra if you had to keep it safe for one night? Why would your hiding place work?
+ What would be the hardest thing about looking after a zebra for a whole day?
+ What rules would you create if a wild animal came to stay at your house?
Reading Homework
Please read daily (for at least 15 minutes). You should now be logging all reading on the digital reading diary called Page Ticker. If you are having difficulty accessing Page Ticker, please speak with the class teacher. You will still need to read texts from across different genres (e.g. non-fiction, poetry, biographies, science-fiction).
Well done to everyone who has logged their reading so far!
Spelling Homework
Please practise your weekly spellings which have been given to you in your spelling book. Try writing them into sentences to help you memorise the words and understand the meaning.
The list which has been sent out this week will be the final spelling list of the Summer Term.
These spellings will be tested on Friday 17th July.
