Wonder Week
A key feature of every half-term’s curriculum. This is where the whole school will focus on project-based learning to incorporate cross-curricular learning and progress art and design, design technology and music skills with a common theme, kicking off with a whole school trip and culminating in a family event (think exhibitions, galleries, festivals and concerts).
This year’s whole-school educational visits include: the Tate Modern, Science Museum, Natural History Museum, The Lion King (Musical) and Windsor Castle. We are also expecting external visitors for surprise performances, catering vans and a food market.

Year 6 Residential
Residential experiences offer a unique and invaluable opportunity to enhance personal, social, and educational development beyond the classroom – an approach we value highly at SAVS.
By spending time away from home in a supportive school environment, pupils develop greater independence, resilience, and self-confidence as they navigate new challenges and responsibilities.
Residential trips foster strong social skills and deepen friendships through shared experiences, promoting teamwork and collaboration. Additionally, such experiences enrich pupils’ understanding of the world around them, offering hands-on learning and memorable activities that stimulate curiosity and creativity.

Ultimately, our aim with this residential experience is to support the holistic development of Year 6 pupils, preparing them for the transition to secondary education with increased maturity and a broader perspective, whilst also providing lasting and positive memories of this stage of their lives.
