The home-school agreement is an important partnership between the school, the community including pupils.

  • We will do our best to:

    • Support your child’s wellbeing and safety by providing a safe, supportive and caring environment where they feel valued and respected.

    • Help and encourage your child to reach their full potential, recognising and celebrating their individual strengths, progress and achievements.

    • Monitor your child’s progress carefully and communicate regularly with you about their learning, development and wellbeing.

    • Provide a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all children.

    • Ensure every child has opportunities to take part in outdoor learning, sport and the creative arts.

    • Promote high standards of behaviour, kindness and mutual respect to maintain a safe, positive and welcoming environment for everyone.

    • Provide opportunities for your child to develop independence, responsibility, resilience, positive self-esteem and healthy relationships.

    • Set appropriate homework and reading activities that support and extend classroom learning, providing feedback where appropriate.

    • Provide meaningful opportunities for parents and carers to be involved in school life, including parent meetings, workshops, events and parent forums.

    • Maintain open, respectful and effective communication with parents and carers and work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for your child.

  • We will do our best to:

    ·        Make sure my child is ready for school

    • Make sure my child attends school regularly and arrives on time.

    • Notify the school promptly if my child is going to be absent.

    • Make sure my child wears the correct school uniform and brings other required equipment when needed.

    ·        Support positive behaviour and wellbeing

    • Support the school’s expectations for behaviour and encourage my child to demonstrate kindness, respect and positive behaviour.

    • Encourage my child to try their best and develop a positive attitude towards learning so they can reach their full potential.

    • Communicate any concerns that may affect my child’s wellbeing, behaviour or ability to learn.

    ·        Communicate and work in partnership with the school

    • Communicate with the school in a respectful, constructive and appropriate manner.

    • Understand that the school has set procedures for contacting staff in order to protect their valuable time with the children

    • Attend parent meetings and work collaboratively with the school to achieve the best possible outcomes for my child.

    • Read communications sent home by the school and respond when required

    • Ensure that the school has the most up to date pupil, contact and emergency information at all times.

    • Encourage my child to complete homework and reading activities on time and to the best of their ability.

    • Encourage my child to take part in the school’s enrichment opportunities and wider school life.

    • Read and follow the school’s policies and support the school in implementing them.

    • Actively support the school’s mobile phone-free environment.

    • Treat all members of the school community with care, courtesy and respect, both in person and online.

    • Work positively with the school to help create a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for all children, families and staff.

  • I will do our best to:

    • Arrive at school on time every day and am ready to learn.

    • Give my best effort to everything I do and ask for help when I need it.

    • Follow our school rules and class charters.

    • Be friendly, caring and respectful towards children and adults.

    • Use kind and appropriate behaviour, both in person and when using online devices.

    • Complete my homework and reading tasks to the best of my ability.

    • Bring the correct equipment I need for school each day.

    • Listen carefully and take pride in my learning.

    • Take pride in myself and my school

    • Wear the correct school uniform.

    • Look after my belongings, our school and the environment.

    • Show that I am proud to be part of South Ascot Village School.

    • Represent our school positively wherever I go and whatever I do.

We believe happiness, wellbeing and lifelong success comes from working together.

Any references to ‘parent’ should be understood to mean parents and carers.
