Together we have strength.
At South Ascot Village School, we nurture curious, creative and determined learners who achieve excellence and thrive in a safe, inclusive community where everyone belongs.
We believe passionately in our school and its community. South Ascot Village School is a special place that truly values each and every individual. Together, we have strength - as a united team, we move ever forward toward outstanding provision for all our families and children.
Our Core Values
-

Care (the Bee)
Bees show care by working together to support their hive and ensure the wellbeing of the whole colony. Each bee plays an important role, communicating, cooperating and helping others to thrive. Bees gather resources not just for themselves but for the benefit of everyone, reminding us that kindness, teamwork and supporting one another help communities grow stronger and flourish.
We support everyone's wellbeing, dreams and aspirations. We embrace diversity and create a culture where pupils feel safe, valued and respected. We work in partnership with families and our wider community to help every child flourish.
-

Determination (the Fish)
Fish demonstrate determination through their ability to keep moving forwards, often travelling great distances and overcoming strong currents to reach their destination. They show resilience when faced with challenges and adapt to changing conditions in their environment. Fish remind us that persistence, effort and a positive mindset help us achieve our goals, even when the journey is difficult.
We have the determination to succeed. No-one can tell us we can't or won't - we can and we will. We set high expectations for all pupils and support them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
-

Planning (the Owl)
Owls demonstrate planning through their patience, observation and thoughtful decision-making. Rather than rushing, they carefully assess their surroundings and choose the best moment to act. Owls use their knowledge and awareness to prepare for challenges and make wise choices. They remind us that careful planning, preparation and thinking ahead help us achieve success and reach our goals.
We plan for success to reach our shared goals. We design an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum that gives all children the knowledge and skills they need for their next steps and for life in modern Britain.
-

Curiosity (the Cat)
Cats are naturally curious animals, always exploring their surroundings and investigating anything new or unfamiliar. Their inquisitive nature helps them learn about the world around them and adapt to different situations. Cats remind us that asking questions, seeking new experiences and exploring ideas can lead to exciting discoveries and a deeper understanding of the world.
We encourage curiosity and enquiry, asking questions that open doors to new learning and challenge existing ideas. We develop pupils' love of learning and help them understand the world around them.
-

Growth (the Butterfly)
Butterflies are powerful symbols of growth because they go through an incredible transformation during their life cycle. They begin as caterpillars and, through time, patience and change, become beautiful butterflies. Their journey reminds us that growth does not happen overnight and that learning, development and even mistakes are important parts of becoming the very best version of ourselves.
We value the learning journey as much as the destination. We recognise that learning takes time and evolve our practice to extend learning experiences. We help pupils develop resilience and understand that mistakes are part of learning.
-

Creativity (the Monkey)
Monkeys demonstrate creativity through their intelligence, adaptability and playful approach to solving problems. They often find new ways to overcome challenges, explore their environment and use available resources in imaginative ways. Monkeys remind us to think differently, embrace new ideas and be willing to try new approaches that help us learn, create and succeed.
We embrace creativity and innovation. We encourage thinking outside the ordinary, taking well-managed risks and blue-sky thinking. We provide rich experiences that develop pupils' talents and interests.
-

Connection (the Spider)
Spiders demonstrate connection through the intricate webs they build, linking many strands together to create something strong and purposeful. Every thread plays an important role and contributes to the success of the whole web. Spiders remind us that building positive relationships, working together and making connections between ideas helps us strengthen our understanding and achieve more together.
We make links and connections in our knowledge, relationships and learning to deepen our understanding. We help pupils develop positive relationships, work collaboratively and contribute positively to society.
