FAQ: SAVS Uniform
Example question: Are SAVS changing THE School uniform this year?
In September 2026, the DfE’s statutory guidance on uniform costs, including limits on branded items, came into effect. This timing of this alongside the launch of the ‘new SAVS’ has presented the SAVS community with an ideal opportunity to work together on defining what we want to do moving forward.

We’re taking a three step approach to reviewing our uniform:
Our intention is to start working with suppliers to identify the right uniform partner, and options for what the new uniform could look like between now and the October half-term.
From here, we will be able to present ideas and options to the children, who will work with their parents and carers to share their ideas and/or designs. These ideas and/or designs will be reviewed by various groups including School Council, Staff, Governors and parents and carers by Christmas.
Two contrasting options will be presented to the whole school community for a vote and decision by February half-term. For example, one option might be ‘active wear’ and the other ‘formal wear’.
At every stage, affordability and sustainability will be driving decisions, but also practicality and ensuring that branded items are limited but still effective in fostering the sense of ‘belonging’ that makes SAVS the school it is today.
